Infant ICU is a service available for children who are 0-1 years old and in need of critical care. The infant ICU of AWMCH is situated on the 5th floor of Momin Building and houses all the modern technologies including life support. There are 10 beds in this unit. All doctors and nurses from the NICU are assigned to take care of the patients admitted here, which ensures the best care that AWMCH has to offer.

Internal Medicine Department provides an individualized, compassionate approach to adolescent, adult and geriatric medicine. This expertise enables doctors to treat both common illnesses and complex medical conditions.

Located at the 3rd floor of the Ashraf Ali Building, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a specialized facility dedicated to patients who require intensive monitoring, nursing care and complex respiratory support. The ICU is staffed 24 hours a day by 14 board-certified specialists and 31 seasoned critical care nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are committed to providing quality clinical care.

With a ceiling-mounted service unit to house medical equipment and deliver critical power, the beds in our ICU are no longer tethered to the wall. This allows the beds to be rotated and positioned freely to the most optimum environment. The ICU is also positioned in close proximity to the operating theatres so patients can receive emergency treatment as quickly as possible.

The High Dependency Unit (HDU) is for patients who require a higher level of observation, treatment and nursing care than that offered in a general ward but not so much that it requires admission into intensive care. For those moving into the HDU from the intensive care facilities, this move is often seen as a welcome sign of progress as it means that the patient is improving, gradually establishing more normal eating and sleeping patterns, and is a step closer to going home. It is adjacent to the ICU on the same floor, with 8 dedicated beds. The red zone is also located nearby for patients with critical conditions, with 7 dedicated beds.

The 100-bed-unit consists of numerous child specialists, assisted by 100 nurses and 4 receptionists.

Our OT complex is designed to facilitate seven Operation Theatres alongside its ancillary departments. The main OT complex located in the ground floor acts as a round the clock hub for the various surgical procedures conducted in this hospital.

Postnatal care (PNC) is the care given to the mother and her newborn baby immediately after birth and for the first six weeks of life. This period marks the establishment of a new phase of family life for women and their partners and the beginning of the lifelong health record for newborn babies (or neonates — a term often used by doctors, nurses and midwives).
